Take support
Take helps you record, refine and export software demonstrations on your Windows PC. The free private preview is available to invited testers through Microsoft Store.
For preview access, feedback or help, email hello@fedorai.com with “Take preview” in the subject.
Help us reproduce the issue
- Your Take version, shown in Help → About Take
- Your Windows version, display resolution and scaling
- The steps you took, what you expected and what happened
- For sound issues, the microphone and playback devices you selected
- A short, non-sensitive example or screenshot, if useful
Take does not send us your recordings automatically. Remove personal or confidential content before attaching anything to an email.
Microsoft Store access
- Request an invitation and include the email address of the personal Microsoft account you use in Microsoft Store.
- Once your invitation is confirmed, sign in to Microsoft Store with that same account.
- Open Take by Fedorai in Microsoft Store to install the preview.
The listing is restricted to invited accounts. Opening the link does not grant access. Work or school accounts cannot join this private audience. If access fails, contact us with the invited email address; never send your password or recovery codes.
Recordings and exports
Start with a short test recording and check the exported picture and sound. Microphone and system audio are optional and can be tested separately. Keep backups of important work.
Recordings normally live in Videos\Take. Keep each project's original footage and project file together. Library deletion moves the recording folder to the Recycle Bin; exports saved elsewhere are separate files. Redaction masks affect the finished composition and do not remove content from the original footage.
MP4 supports full edited videos. GIF is intended for short selections and has duration and rendering limits shown in the app. Large exports may take time; try a short 720p export when diagnosing a problem.
Supported preview platform
The preview supports Windows 11 on x64 PCs. Updates are delivered through Microsoft Store. There is no Take account or subscription in this preview.
