Take privacy information
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Take is a Windows application from Fedorai for recording and editing software demonstrations. This notice describes the private preview application.
What Take accesses
When you start a recording, Take captures the display or area you selected and records pointer positions and clicks for editing. If you enable microphone or system audio, the recording includes that sound. Content visible on screen and audible through those sources may contain personal information. Take does not start recording automatically.
Take accesses videos and project files you choose to import or open. Imported footage is copied or converted into a local project. Scripts entered in the teleprompter, visual presets and preferences are stored locally.
Where your files are stored
Recordings, original footage and project edits normally live in your Windows Videos folder under Take. Exported files are saved to the locations you select. Preferences and scripts live in Take's Windows application profile.
Take does not upload recordings, scripts or project files to Fedorai, and this version contains no advertising, application analytics or automatic crash-upload service. Microsoft processes Store installation, update and diagnostic information under its own policies. Windows backup, OneDrive, security software or other services you enable may independently access or synchronise local files.
Your choices
You control when recording starts and stops, whether audio is included, which files are imported, and where exports are saved. Take's Library deletion actions move recording folders to the Windows Recycle Bin. Emptying the Recycle Bin and deleting separately saved exports are separate actions. You can edit or clear your teleprompter script and delete saved visual presets in the app.
Edits and redaction masks do not erase content from the original recording. Raw footage remains on disk, so review the final export and handle the source files with care. Files in your Videos folder are separate from the installed program and should be managed independently when removing the app.
Support and privacy enquiries
If you request preview access, we use the personal Microsoft account email you provide to manage your invitation through Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes that account information under its own policies.
If you voluntarily send a recording, screenshot, log or other information when requesting support, Fedorai receives that information to respond to your request. Review it first and remove content you do not wish to share. Contact hello@fedorai.com with questions about this notice or requests concerning information you have sent us.
This Take information page does not load advertising or analytics scripts. Normal website hosting and email services still process requests needed to deliver the page and support messages. The application does not automatically send support messages.
Changes
This notice will be updated if Take's data handling changes. Any future upload or diagnostic feature will be described before it is released.
